Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt’s Marriage NOT Legal Yet?

They shocked the world by revealing they had secretly
married in an intimate French ceremony on Saturday.
But Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s wedding may not be legal
just yet, according to California law, which decrees they have
to tie the knot in the state to make their union official.

The Pitts said ‘I Do’ at their French estate, Chateau Mirval,
last Saturday in a ceremony presided over by a judge from
California after they obtained their license in California.
However, California marriage licenses only authorize an
official to ‘perform a marriage ceremony within the state of
California’, according to the state Department of Public
Health. This means the A list couple may have either got
married before jetting to France or will have to do so rather
soon.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Registrar said
that the Pitts have 90 days to get married after obtaining their
marriage license, saying: ‘We do not have any information on
the marriage.

‘To get married in Los Angeles County, couples need to
obtain a marriage license and solemnize their marriage within
90 days. ‘Afterwards, they submit their signed marriage
license to receive a marriage certificate. The marriage record
becomes available after 6-8 weeks.’
She added: ‘The judge would have to do it in California or
LA County but many people have a ceremony outside of their
official one.’
