Mike Adenuga gives Super Eagles $250,000 to defeat France

The Minister for Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission (NSC) Dr. Tammy Danagogo over the weekend revealed that billionaire businessman Otunba Mike Adenuga gave him $250,000 to give to the Super Eagles in Brazil to encourage them to beat France today, promising to do more if they win and advance to the quarter-final stage.

According to Danagogo, who has since presented the money to the team, Mike Adenuga, while presenting the money to him said;

"This is a token and if the team goes ahead and shock the world, I will join Mr President to shock the team.”

Shock them? Imagine the kind of money that can shock a millionaire footballer. Lol. Choi! Super Eagles, oya o...make una win o! The match will take place 5pm today!

Divorce rumours have been following rapper T.I and his wife Tiny for many months now after they subtly attacked each other on their social media accounts. There was even a report that their problems started after Tiny found out T.I had a baby with another woman, a claim T.I has since denied. Then there's the famous show down with Floyd Mayweather in Vegas. Anyway, the couple put the divorce rumours to rest after they were photographed sitting together at the BET Awards that held on Sunday night. Pistorius was not mentally ill when he shot girlfriend' - experts says

Many weeks after his trial was put on hold so he can get psychiatric evaluation to determine if he was
mentally ill when he shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, in his home in February 2013, a report has been released. A panel of mental health experts has concluded that Oscar Pistorius was not suffering from mental illness when he killed Reeva, the chief prosecutor at his murder trial said today.

The mental experts, a psychologist and 3 psychiatrists all agreed that Oscar understood the gravity of his act when he shot Reeva through a closed toilet door. The request for evaluation came after his defence team brought a psychiatrist who testified that Oscar had an anxiety disorder, because of his disability, that could have contributed to the shooting. His trial resumed today after a 1-month break.

In a statement released moments ago, the Nigerian military said it has arrested Babuji Ya'ari, (pictured above), who is described as the key actor in the Chibok girls abduction. Babuji, according to the military, was a member of the Youth Vigilante Group popularly known as civilian JTF, which he used as a cover to spy on the activities of the Nigerian security forces, acting as a spy & gathering information for terrorist group. Keshi is the best indigenous coach Nigeria has ever had" - Okocha

Jay Jay Okocha, who was one of Super Sport's analyst on the Nigeria vs France match this evening said the current Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, is the best indigenous coach Nigeria has ever had, saying we need continuity and that Keshi should under no circumstances be removed as coach of the Eagles because we didn't qualify to the quarter-final round of the World Cup.

Adaeze Yobo slams football fans for criticizing Yobo's own goal

Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, who I think played well tonight, scored an own goal in the Nigeria vs France match. Some football fans, who felt some type of way about it, took their anger out on his wife, Adaeze Yobo, calling her out on social media.

Instead of ignoring the jibes, Adaeze took to her instagram page to fire back. (what she wrote above)

Stephen Keshi and Joseph Yobo quit Super Eagles

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi and the team captain Joseph Yobo have both quit the team after failing to qualify to the quarter-final stage of the 2014 World Cup, Vanguard reports.

Speaking this evening after the Eagles' loss to France in the round of 16, Keshi said it was time to move on.

"I have to go back to my family and face fresh challenges,” Keshi said.

Eagles Captain, Yobo Joseph also said he's had enough and can go no further as national team player. “I think I should give the younger ones the opportunity to forge ahead. I have nothing new to offer.”

Bomb blast in Maiduguri market this morning

A bomb exploded at a busy market in Maiduguri, Borno state, this morning July1st. Eye-witnesses said the bomb went off around 8am this morning at the busy market near a Power Holding building.

The number of casualty is expected to be high because of how crowded the area is.

A Borno state govt official confirmed the blast to Sahara Reporters, saying the causality number is very high but stated that security agencies are working to secure the area and rescue victims.

Police nab Ernest Nwankwo, pastor accused of running a ritualists’ den

Ernest Nwankwo, the General Overseer of Holy Family Ministry, a.k.a House of Mercy, located in the Ogolonto area of Ikorodu, Lagos, who allegedly runs a ritualists' den, has finally been arrested by the Nigerian police almost a week after he escaped following the arrest of one of his church members who was caught trying to kidnap her neighbour's 7 year old son.

The woman, Rosemary Chukwu, claimed her pastor had sent her to kidnap the boy for ritual purpose.

According to Vanguard, Nwankwo, who was arrested around Ebute Metta area of Lagos yesterday, is currently at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos.

Nwankwo has since denied that the building on Oshodi Street in Ikorodu where eight victims were found is a ritualists' den. He said the building was used to keep lunatics.
