Basic Command Line for TCP/IP and Networking in Windows you Should Know

Yes today was a very great day because the temperature outside my room above 30 celcius in last few days…and also today, I will write simple tips and trick about basic command line for tcp/ip and networking in windows you should know.
I will try to explain the simple basic thing you need to know about basic command line for tcp/ip and networking in windows you should know. Usually you will need basic command line for tcp/ip and networking for information gathering and find information about victim and sometimes you can accidentaly find some vulnerable server when do some research. This tips and trick also can be used to check your connection and finding some malicious port used by malware, trojan, or etc.

Requirement :

1. Windows OS
2. A Cup of Coffee to make you relaks :-p

Step By Step :

1. Firstly, you should go to your command prompt window. Open Run (how to open run) and type cmd.

2. ipconfig

ipconfig used to display the TCP/IP network configuration values. If your computer connected to internet or local network you will have an ip address and will described in ipconfig. To view switches for ipconfig use ipconfig /? command for help, let’s see the picture and explanation below.

FYI :
/release : release specified adapter if you got IP address from DHCP server.
/renew : renew and ask for new IP address from DHCP server.
/flushdns : clear all DNS local cache
/displaydns : displaying what do you have in your local DNS cache.

3. ping

This command usually used to check active connection between computer or server. Ping sends out a packet to a designated internet host or network computer and measures its response time. The target or other computer will respond and return a signal to determine the quality of connection to other site or another computer.

If you see the image above, my current connection with google.com is not too good(but also not too bad), because the average time for the very good connection is not more than 100-150ms (more lower more fast).
When you do ping command, the default packet value you send to other computer is 32 bytes.
If you find “Request timed out” message when you perform ping, maybe the remote server or computer didn’t allow ping or they have a firewall.

4. tracert

Tracert (traceroute) is another command adopted from Unix system. Actually when you try to open facebook.com or google.com in your browser, you ask your computer to go to that address through hopping into a few router address. Let’s see the picture below when I’m trying to traceroute to google.com(sorry if I put a lot of sensor in this pics).

To reach google.com I need to go through 8 hop(router) until my last destination. Usually tracert command also can be used to check your connection into some websites. If you found that the hop more than 15 when you do tracert command, that website should be very slow accessed from your PC.

5. Netstat

Netstat displays the active TCP connections and ports on which the computer is listening, Ethernet statistics, the IP routing table, statistics for the IP, ICMP, TCP, and UDP protocols. Netstat also can be used to tracking your outbound or inbound connection to your computer, it’s useful to malicious connection. Let’s see the picture below to see the available switch in netstat.

netstat -a : use to displaying all connection and listening ports.
netstat -b : showing the executable files involved in creating connection
you also can use the switch simultaneously, for example netstat -ab to display all connection and executables files related to it’s connection

6. nslookup

This command helps to diagnose the Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure and comes with a number of sub-commands. Usually used by hackers to find out some useful information that you can’t find on search engine. In this tips and trick I’m only show you how to find server IP address or host name. Type nslookup and the enter the URL of website you want to know it’s IP address for example I use google.com.

As you can see on picture above, that google.com have about 5 IP address and if you open all of that IP address, it will open the same website : google.com.
I think there’s more than this the command line for networking, in next article I will try to write more deep about this command line and other advanced command line.

How to Detect Someone Sniffing Your Network in a Simple Way

Last week I'm posting an article about How to Hack Windows via vulnerability in Wireshark, and someone drop a comment and asking about how to detect if someone using wireshark in his network?.
Actually there's a little way you can do when someone using Wireshark in a network, because wireshark only collecting packet data in a passive mode or let's say it's just collecting and grabbing the data that came across the network.
This Wireshark will works perfectly on network that using WI-FI and HUB because the packet that sent and received also sent to another computer inside the network. If you still can't get what I mean, please see the illustrations below.

Hub :

When you're using HUB, the data that sent inside and outside the network will came through HUB, but the main problem is HUB will forward all packet into whole network and check is someone own the packet or not. If there's a computer own the packet, then it will ACCEPT it and the other will DROP the packet.
By using this method, all computer in your network absolutely will receive the packet but they drop it because the packet was not addressed to them. In this network Wireshark will act as data collector and grab all the data even the data was not addressed to them.
 
 
 

Wireless(Wi-Fi) :

This also happen the same in Wi-Fi networks. Wi-fi have the same behavior with HUB, because when you send a packet inside a wireless network, the access point will broadcast your packet to whole network even to your own PC.
But with this kind of network doesn't mean that all wi-fi network can sniff easily, because it was also depend on how the administrator set up and configuring their network.
In this type of network, Wireshark will also act as data collector across the network(esp. on network that didn't have data encryption).
 
 
 

 
 

The Little Way :

When most system attempt to sniff the network their network cards run in promiscious mode. What does promiscious mode mean? according to Wikipedia :
"Promiscuous mode is a configuration of a network card that makes the card pass all traffic it receives to the central processing unit rather than just packets addressed to it — a feature normally used for packet sniffing."
So if know that promiscuous mode is used for sniffing and if you're attempting to control your local network, you're going to want to know which systems are sniffing on the network so lets find out who's running in promiscuous mode. There are a ton of tools out there to just detect promiscuous mode but now we will use Nmap.

nmap --script=sniffer-detect 192.168.8.0/24

We can see that the system has been detected to be running in promiscuous mode and the result is "11111111." Different operating systems report different combinations of 1's. Linux reports "11111111", Windows 2k, XP, Vista, and Windows 7 reports "111___1_". By default, the script will only report NICs Likely in promiscuous mode so if you don't see get any results, that's because the scan returned false.

Countermeasure :

I think detecting a sniffer was not a good way to control your network, you only caught the suspecting devices after they doing sniffing your network a.k.a it was too late.
And maybe it was better if you do preventive action for your network. Below was the way to prevent as I think(you can add other suggestion for me to put in this article) :
1. Host to host encryption (IPSEC)
2. Use encrypted protocols (SSL,FTPS,SSH)
3. Use switch for your network

Manchester United Reportedly Sign Fellaini From Everton

According to Skysports, Manchester United were able to complete the signing of Marouane Fellaini and Fabio Coentrao, before the transfer window slammed shut.



Fellaini joins his former Everton boss at Old Trafford in a £27.5million deal, after he submitted a transfer request earlier this evening.

Other reports claim that United have also snapped up Fabio Coentrao on a one-year loan from Real Madrid, although this has not been confirmed yet. David Moyes turned to the Portuguese left-back, after he failed to land Leighton Baines.

Manchester United manager David Moyes said: “I have worked with Marouane for five years and I’m delighted he has decided to join Manchester United. He is a player with great ability and strength and I think he will make a real difference to our squad.”

Jaylen Bledsoe is a 15-year-old sophomore at Hazelwood West High School in Missouri who started his own tech company.

He sat down with John Pertzborn to explain how he started building a company when he was only 12. The start-up, which now has about 150 contract employees around the world, helps companies with website design, graphics and other technology consulting services.

At age 15 and considered a millionaire, Bledsoe says the guiding principle to his success is his willingness to take risks.‘There’s nothing you can do as a minor that will shoot you down for too long,’ he told KTVI-TV ’Because you’re young, you can always jump back up and keep going.’

Iran Threatens To Rape And Kill One Of Obama's Daughters, Abduct US Ministers Family Members If Obama Attacks Syria

As Congress debates whether to support President Obama’s call for a limited strike against Syria for the alleged use of chemical weapons, Iran is vowing to back Bashar al-Assad’s regime to the hilt and threatening to unleash terrorism should the U.S. strike.


Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s Quds Forces, Wednesday told the Assembly of Experts — the body that chooses the supreme leader — that “[w]e will support Syria to the end.”

And in an unprecedented statement, a former Iranian official has warned of mass abductions and brutal killings of American citizens around the world and the rape and killing of one of Obama’s daughters should the United States attack Syria.


“Hopefully Obama will be pigheaded enough to attack Syria, and then we will see the … loss of U.S. interests [through terrorist attacks],” he threatened. “In just 21 hours [after the attack on Syria], a family member of every U.S. minister [department secretary], U.S. ambassadors, U.S. military commanders around the world will be abducted. And then 18 hours later, videos of their amputation will be spread [around the world].”

A similar act was committed in a video of the torture of William Buckley, a CIA station chief who was abducted in Beirut in 1984 and later killed by Hezbollah on Iran’s order. That video was dropped off at the U.S. Embassy in Athens. Former CIA Director William Casey later described what he saw in the video: “They had done more than ruin his body. His eyes made it clear his mind had been played with. It was horrific, medieval and barbarous.”

PHOTOS: 200 People Injured As Over 130 Vehicles Crash Into Each Other

Dozens of people were injured as more than 130 vehicles were involved in a series of crashes on the A249 Sheppey crossing in Kent today. The crash which went on for 10 minutes as cars continuously collided with each other was caused by a thick fog.







According to eyewitnesses, visibility had been very poor at the time of the crash but drivers were
approaching the crossing with no lights.
One witness said:

'You would hear the screeching of brakes and then a thud. It was all you could hear for about 10 minutes - crash after crash after crash.' The whole top of the bridge is full of mangled cars and lorries. There are cars with their roofs ripped off - one is five feet in the air. There were a lot of people trapped.'

The accidents left at least six people seriously injured and 200 suffering minor wounds.
No one is believed to have died in the crash.

Finally, I will also get to meet Pokello’s mum and her family,” Elikem said. “After the eviction show, I spoke to Pokello’s mum and have been looking forward to meeting her ever since. She seems to like me judging by her responses on the phone. So far so good, our relationship is actually better than what I expected. My mum likes Pokello so much. Pokello will also be coming to Ghana soon to meet my family,” Elikem said.

PHOTOS: Images Of Dead Clerics Appear On The Walls Of A Mosque In Ikorodu

Last Tuesday, an amazing event occurred at Owode Onirin, Ikorodu, Lagos, as images of some clerics who died decades ago were believed to have made sudden appearances on the walls of Dawiz Central Mosque in the area.


The images were identified as as that of Sheikh Ahmada Tijani, (Algeria) Sheikh Ibraheem Niass, (Senegal) Sheikh Jamiu Bulala. (Nigeria)

Thousands of people and passers-by stormed the mosque to not only have a glimpse but to also offer some prayers. Right inside the mosque, people were seen holding bottles/satchets of water muttering prayers and shouting Allahu Akbar (God is great). Some were even seen bowing to the image.

According to Eye-witness: “The images were first noticed on Tuesday September 3, on the walls of the mosque which was constructed a few months ago and owned by Sheikh Musa Alegbeleye.”

An eye-witness also disclosed that attempt was made by some individuals to wash off the images but to no avail; adding that the more they try to rub it off, the more the images become clearer.


It was gathered that four months ago, the image of Sheikh Jamiu Bulala Islamic Cleric, who had died two decades ago appeared first faintly to the consternation of Muslim faithful and they decided never to make it public to create any doubt.

The President of Islamic society of Nigeria, Lagos State Mukadam Alhaji Samodu Onikoyi confirmed the appearance of the images.
