Burna Boy Reportdly Parts Ways With Aristokrat Records

News making the rounds have it that Burna Boy has
parted ways with the record label that brought him
into limelight, Aristokrat Records. According to the
story on the site, Burna is no longer with AR. The
record label’s logo is not in his new video ‘Don
Gorgon’. Also Aristokrat Records’ in-house producer
Leriq didn’t produce the song. Burna Boy’s debut
L.IF.E was entirely produced by Leriq. As a matter of
fact, all artistes on the label have had their EPs
entirely produced by Leriq.

Aristokrat Records has removed everything about
Burna on their social media accounts. Burna Boy has
done likewise. HipHopWorld Magazine has been
aware of the friction between the top brass of
Aristokrat and Burna Boy stemming from his mum’s
involvement in his career, and his unproductive
behaviour influenced by certain narcotics.
On Friday, July 11, Burna Boy fired his mum as his
manager on Twitter. Under Aristokrat Records, the 23
year old Burna Boy released his debut album
Leaving an Impact For Eternity (L.I.F.E) in 2013 to
rave reviews.

Rapper Ruggedman becomes an International Peace Ambassador ›

Ruggedman has joined the Elite list of International
Ambassadors for peace. Inspiring youths, giving hope to
the needy, empowering women are other attributes of the
star rapper that most do not know.

For over 2 years, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens aka
Ruggedman, has volunteered in various national
community projects across Nigeria and the diaspora
especially through the ambassadors in action program
earning him a nomination for an International Peace
Ambassador by the Youth federation for world peace. An
organisation in consultative status with the UN.

Through his new appointment Ruggedman will be
attending meetings at the United Nations, lobbying world
leaders and using his influence and fame to promote a
culture of peace. Other celebrities to be inducted on the
night includes Davido, Skales and more.

GEJ promises to meet Chibok girls' parents after meeting with Malala

President Jonathan yesterday promised girl-child education campaigner Malala Yousafzai that he will meet the parents of the missing Chibok girls. He's promised to do all he can to rescue the girls but he never attempted to go to Chibok and never requested to meet with the missing girls' parents...until Malala convinced him to do so. Speaking after the closed door meeting at the state house, Malala said

"I met with the parents of these girls who are still under the abduction of Boko Haram and they were crying and hopeless. But still, they have this hope that there is still someone who can help them. They asked me if there is any chance for them to meet the President because at this time, they need the President’s support, so I asked the President if it is possible for him to go and see them to encourage them and the President did promise me that he will meet the parents of these girls.

Adamawa state Governor Nyako impeached, deputy resigns position

Adamawa State House of Assembly members this afternoon July 15th impeached the state governor, Murtala Nyako, following a report by a 7-man investigative committee that probed allegations of gross misconduct and financial impropriety against him.

The report, which was read by the State Assembly Speaker Umaru Fintiri on the floor of the House, found the governor guilty of all the 16 allegations of gross misconduct. 18 out of the 24 members of the State Assembly then signed a resolution removing the governor.

The House then passed a motion that the Speaker, Umaru Fintiri, should be sworn in as the state’s acting governor. According to reports, that will be done by 4pm today.

Meanwhile, the state Deputy Governor who was also investigated by the panel, had resigned his position earlier in the day in a letter he sent to the House of Assembly which was read by members and immediately approved.
