FG Directs ASUU To Return To Classroom; Releases Money

The federal government has ordered that lecturers should go back to classrooms immediately after it said it had disbursed the sum of N30 billion for earned academic allowances.

The directive which was given by the secretary to the government of the federation, Sen Anyim Pius Anyim, during a meeting between the federal government and the vice-chancellors of the 61 public universities, stated that "Government, hereby, urges every staff of the nation's universities to return to work as all issues are being resolved."

Speaking on the N92billion earned allowances, Anyim said:

Staff of the universities that is so entitled should verify his claim with the university council and accordingly get paid as "from the foregoing, it is obvious that government has demonstrated sufficient commitment to the implementation of the 2009 FG/ASUU agreement.

"After series of discussions, government has now provided N30 billion to support the university councils in settling the earned allowances. The amount will be disbursed to the various university councils which are in the position to know who is entitled to how much after verification."

He revealed that "Traditionally, universities pay this to deserving staff but because of the amount which ASUU now claims as arrears, government has decided to assist the university councils to pay" as government did not receive any computation of amount involved until February, 2013.

"By this computation, ASUU is claiming N92 billion as arrears for three year's payment based on percentage rage of between 15 and 20 per cent of personnel cost."

While there was consensus that revitalising the tertiary institutions is of critical importance to the nation, Anyim noted that "when put together, the amount of funds from the budgetary and non-budgetary sources that goes into the sector is quite huge but without corresponding impact."

Bihar train tragedy: Victims’ kin blame lack of road

Patna  :  A day after at least 28 Hindu pilgrims were mowed down by a speeding train in Bihar, the survivors and families of victims Tuesday blamed lack of road access to a temple near the accident site for the tragedy.

They alleged that as there was no foot overbridge the pilgrims were crossing the track at a railway station to visit the temple when the Rajya Rani Express train hit them Monday morning in Khagaria district, over 150 km from here.

Babulal Yadav, who lost his 10-year-old son Ramgrish in the tragedy, said: “Pilgrims are forced to take the risk of crossing the track to visit Katyayani Temple as there is no road access.”
“In the past, former chief minister Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi promised to construct a road but nothing happened. The present Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also promised to build a road to the temple, but it has remained on paper,” said Yadav, a resident of Dushmudhi village.
Madhuri Mahto, who lost two minor sons Prem Raj and Ram Raj in the tragedy, said: “Pilgrims cross the tracks during festivals to reach the temple because there is no road facility.”
“A road access to the temple could have saved so many lives,” Mahto, a resident of Dhariyavas village, who himself was injured while saving his wife Sangeeta Devi during the accident, told IANS over telephone from a government hospital.
Suresh Singh, a villager from the area, slammed the delay in arrival of medical help and rescue teams after the tragedy.
“The family members and relatives of the victims carried them on their backs over seven km to reach the nearest highway and take them to hospital,” Singh said.
Additional Director General of Police (law and Order) S.K. Bhardawaj admitted that rescue work at the accident spot was also delayed due to lack of road access.
National Disaster Response Force Director General Krishna Choudhary said in Patna that all states must develop disaster response structure down to the village level.
“There is a need to develop effective and accountable disaster response structure at the state level” said Choudhary, who is visiting the flood-hit state.
Nitish Kumar told mediapersons that road construction department had been directed to build an approved state highway on a priority to improve connectivity of the temple area and the spot close to the train accident site.
“I visited the temple during my tenure as railway minister. It is a very remote place. The terrain is difficult. There is no other means to reach the temple, except trains,” he said.
Chief Public Relation Officer of East Central Railway Amitabh Prabhakar said that six seriously injured pilgrims were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Khagaria.
“Both the drivers of the train, who were thrashed by angry pilgrims after the accident, are undergoing treatment at a hospital and their condition is stable,” he said.
According to district police officials, the pilgrims were going to the temple to offer holy water to Lord Shiva on the fourth and final Monday of the holy month of shravan (July-August) when the tragedy took place.

Mother who married her son, she is now 6 months pregnant

A woman and her son have done the unthinkable – they have fallen in love with one another. And now they want to marry since the mom, Betty Mbereko from Mwenezi in Masvingo, is six months pregnant and expecting her son’s child.
Mbereko (40), who was widowed 12 years ago, has been cohabiting with her first child, Farai Mbereko (23). She confirms that she is six months pregnant and that she has decided it is better to “marry” her son because she does not want to marry her late husband’s young brothers, whom she says are coveting her.
Betty stunned a village court last week when she said the affair with her son had begun three years earlier. She said after spending a lot of money sending Farai to school following the death of her husband, she felt she had a right to his money and no other woman was entitled to it.
“Look, I strove alone to send my son to school and no one helped me. Now you see that my son is working and you accuse me of doing something wrong. “Let me enjoy the products of my sweat,” she told the village court.
Farai said he was more than prepared to marry his mother and would pay off the ilobola balance his father had left unpaid to his grandparents. “I know my father died before he finished paying the bride price and I am prepared to pay it off,” he said.
“It is better to publicise what is happening because people should know that I am the one who made my mother pregnant. Otherwise they will accuse her of promiscuity.”
But local headman Nathan Muputirwa says: “We cannot allow this to happen in our village, mashura chaiwo aya, (This is a bad omen indeed). In the past they would have to be killed but today we cannot do it because we are afraid of the police.” He warned them to break off their marriage or leave his village.

They chose the latter and have left the village for an unknown destination.

VIDEO - How to Unroot Any Rooted Android Device! [1-Click Universal Method]

For those of you wondering how to “unroot” any rooted Android smartphone or tablet, did you know that you can do that easily with 1-click using the SuperSU app?
This will remove root completely from any rooted Android smartphone or tablet.
Now, if you have custom recovery installed, it will not remove that (you will have to re-install stock recovery or re-install stock firmware), but this will remove root completely for devices that only have root installed.  (E.g. if you have a rooted Droid Razr or One X and rooted without installing custom recovery, this method will completely unroot your device and return it to stock.)
Step 1. If you have SuperSU app already (many root methods use SuperSU), you can skip this step.  If you have SuperUser app installed, download and install SuperSU app (free)  from Play Store.
Step 2.  Run the SuperSU app, go to Settings, and choose “Full unroot”.  That’s it!
You can reboot your phone and should find your Android device completely unrooted.  If you still see SuperSU or Superuser app in your drawer, simply uninstall using Play Store.

Going Further

Unrooting basically involves removing SuperUser.apk file and su binaries.

The Files you need to remove:

/system/bin/su
/system/xbin/su
/system/app/Superuser.apk

Removing these three files removes root from your Android device.
