Palace Chief explains the mystery behind Ondo strange disease, says love of money is the root of disease outbreak

A chief in Ode-Irele Community in Ondo state where a strange illness that kills its victims within 24 hours, has explained why the community was struck by such a deadly disease.
According to Chief Moses Enimade, the Oyewoga of Ode Irele in Ondo State and the second in Command to the Oba of Irele community, the disease is a punishment for the sacrilege committed against a local diety, Molokun, by some youths who wanted to use some stolen items from the dieties shrine for money ritual. “Molokun is a deity of the land. Only the Chief Priest and High Chief Gboguron are qualified to enter the shrine. They were not qualified to enter the (shrine). They had to face the d€ath penalty. Even the Kabiesi himself is not permitted to enter the Molokun Shrine’s inner room except the Chief Priest and High Chief Gboguron. Sacrifice must be performed before they can enter. Because these youths want to be rich at all costs, they entered the sacred place and made away with traditional items and 20 of them have died as a result of their desperate acts. We have to appease the gods or else many will still die and we have to bury them according to tradition. Their corpses belong to the gods and will be exhumed if buried by their families.” he said

Report reaching Us  indicate that the Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije is dead. He died Sunday at 75

Uche Chukwumerije was elected a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in April 2003, representing Abia North Senatorial District.
In the Fourth Republic, Chukwumerije was elected to the Senate on the PDP’s platform, but he fell out of favor with the party’s leadership when he opposed the 3rd term agenda Chukwumerije eventually decamped to the  PPA in 2006, and was reelected to the Senate on April 28, 2007.
Last December the rumour of his d€ath went viral with the politiian coming out days later to describe the rumour as the handiwork of “a few ungodly and irresponsible individuals.”
Chukwumerije is divorced with 7 children.Chukwumerije studied economics at the University of Ibadan.
He also served as minister of information in the later days of the military regime of Ibrahim Babangida.

South Africa: Zulu King bows to pressure,agrees to call for an end to Xenophobic attacks

After being credited for fueling the Xenophobic attacks in South Africa, Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini has been persuaded into acting after a series of meetings with provincial and national government leaders.
Zwelithini’s call on foreigners to pack their bags and leave is what reportedly started the wanthon attacks onAfrican immigrants in the country .
According to City Press Members of the ANC provincial executive this week,called for the king to be asked to address the public directly in an effort to defuse the situation.
Zwelithini has now called an imbizo in Durban for tomorrow, where he is expected to call for an end to xenophobic attacks.The imbizo, at which the king will address the province’s traditional leaders and their subjects, will be held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 10am.
