'Half of a Yellow Sun is one of the biggest films I've done' - Genevieve

Super actress, Genevieve Nnaji who has done hundreds of movies said Half of a Yellow Sun is one of the biggest movies she has done. In an interactive session with journalists she said;

“Half of a Yellow Sun is one of the biggest films I have done so far, but definitely not the most challenging role I have played in movies. I have done a lot more challenging roles in Nollywood”

Genevieve Nnaji played the role of Miss. Adebayo in the movie. She said it was safer for her because she didn’t have to experience the horrors of the war but hopes that in future if a different story is told about the civil war she will love play to the role of an Igbo woman where she would express what it meant to be an Igbo woman at that era. Half of a Yellow Sun is an adaptation of Chimamanda Adiche’s bestselling and award-winning novel with the same title. The movie was produced with over 10 million Dollars (1.7 Billion Naira) and has a superb cast of stars, starring OSCAR nominee and BAFTA award winner, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Genevieve Nnaji, veteran singer Onyeka Onwenu,  Thandie Newton, Anika Rose Noni, OC Ukeje, Zack Orji, Wale Ojo, Gloria Young, Tina Mba, , Joseph Mawle, John Boyega amongst others.

According to a press release signed by Bigsam media, the movie has been released in the UK and would be released in Nigeria this Friday on the 25^th of April. And for the first time an African movie would be released in the mainstream  US Cinema, Middle East, New Zealand, Australia and Portugal. It is also the first movie to show at the Toronto International Film Festival. 

The movie was directed by UK-based Nigerian playwright, Biyi Bandele and produced by winner of three BAFTAs and an OSCAR, Andrea Calderwood and Yewande Sadiku, an investment banker.

Oprah's step-mum starting sumtin...calls Oprah's relationship with Gayle bizarre

Well, Oprah recently got a court order to remove her from her mansion leaving her homeless so she's looking for ways to get back at the billionaire by talking to the press and spilling family secrets. In a recent interview with UK Daily Mail, Barbara Vernon, 66, who was married to Oprah's dad for 14 years, claims that Oprah's relationship with bff Gayle King was bizarre. She's implying that there's more going on between them despite the fact that Oprah has had a man in her life in the last 28 years

Oprah began dating Stedman Graham in 1986 but, according to Barbara, who is now divorced from Oprah's dad, in all the times she saw them together she never once witnessed them hold hands or kiss.

'Once Oprah took us on a Mediterranean cruise. That was an amazing thing she did. She rented a $30million yacht and went on an 11-day cruise. She’s very flamboyant. We had meals three times a day, three courses, different place settings, different cutlery, glassware, different everything three times a day but she never talked to me and Vernon. She didn’t spend any time with us. It was always her, Stedman and Gayle. The three of them. Anytime you looked up they were together. To me it was just bizarre. I can only say what I saw and observed over the years. Gayle was more present than Stedman."

Oprah’s relationships with Stedman & Gayle have long been the subject of much puzzled speculation.

Barbara said; ‘He was comfortable like an old shoe, to her. They stayed in the same room when they were here but he didn’t live with her exactly. He travels so much; he would fly here and there to her. He’s at her beck and call. I think in the beginning it was different. Vernon told me how one time he was driving and Oprah was taking Stedman to meet family in Mississippi. He said she was running her hands through his hair the whole trip, till he was so fed up he was ready to put her out of the car.

Alexandra Wright moved herself and her 4 year old son, Nixon, into a trailer park just outside Los Angeles recently and invited CNN Inside Edition cameras to film the occasion.

A woman's support group provided the new home for Alexandra and Nixon after she publicly begged for help, explaining how she was forced to leave her home because she could no longer afford to pay rent. A judge had made it impossible for Alexandra to collect anymore child support from her baby daddy Matthew Knowles, for the next two years after slashing payments from $12,000 to $2,500 a month, due to his dwindling income. 

Alexandra had earlier planned to move into a homeless shelter before the trailer was provided for her. See the pictures below...

Virgin Australia plane forced to land in Bali over fears of a hijack

A Virgin Australia plane (pictured above after it landed in Bali) was forced to land on the island of  Bali over fears of a possible hijack. Initially reports said the plane, which was flying from Australia and carrying 150 passengers, was being hijacked, but it was later found to be an aggressive drunk passenger who was trying to force his way into the cockpit.

The pilot sent a distress signal to airport authorities and the plane was cleared to land in Bali so the situation could be dealt with. BBC reports that immediately the plane landed, the drunk passenger, who had been overpowered by the crew and handcuffed him, was arrested at the airport.

Virgin Australia told ABC News that there has been a medical emergency aboard the plane but everything had been settled though the aircraft still remains on the tarmac at Bali’s Denpasar airport.

Sossi, whose real name is Agboluaje Babatunde was born in 1991 and hails from Oyo town in Oyo state Nigeria. Kim and Kanye planning three wedding ceremonies

Kim K and and her third husband-to-be Kanye West are planning not one, not two, but three wedding ceremonies…

According to Radar Online the couple plan to have two ceremonies in France and one in Southern California for legal purposes. The Paris wedding date is rumored to be May 24th.

To avoid long lines and red tape, a source tells RadarOnline.com, the couple’s lawyers recommended they hold a civil ceremony in the United States prior to their French nuptials on May 24.

“Typically, the U.S. recognizes citizens getting married in France, but dealing with a foreign government and paperwork could be a nightmare,” the insider explains. “So just to make sure it’s legal, Kim and Kanye will first be having a civil ceremony in Southern California.”

Next, the couple will cross the Atlantic for their dream ceremony in Paris— and French law dictates that there be two wedding ceremonies.

Meanwhile, where did all this I dated Jude Okoye come from? I saw all the comments in the previous post (his engagement) and I was like...what? Lol. I'm sure he's a great guy but nah, not happening. I'm not into celeb men. I'm an Igbo girl, that one na bad market. Hehe. I gossip for a living, imagine if I were dating any Naija celeb guy, I won't be able to write about his colleagues na, they will be reporting me to him everyday. Lol. No, biko, I stay far away from them. I've only met Jude and his brothers twice in my life, briefly, at events.

Plus no sex for this lady anymore until he puts a ring on it. I made that promise a few years ago & I'm sticking to it...until maybe I meet a guy so hot my jaw drops. *wink* For now, I'm fine! Lol
