Lagos State Govt shuts down Lord’s Chosen Church Headquarters

The Headquarters of popular Lagos church Lord's Chosen and Charismatic Revival Church, founded by Pastor Lazarus Muoka, has been sealed off by the Lagos State Government for allegedly defacing and constituting environmental nuisance to its environment.

The church, located in Ijesha on Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos, was shut down on Sunday Oct. 6th by officials of the Ministry of the Environment and prevented thousands of worshipers from having their Sunday service that morning.

The Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello, explained why the Church was shut down

“The Church does not have proper sanitary system and they discharge their wastes into the canal. Most of their members trade on the expressway and we don’t want that"he said

The commissioner also said the church had a habit of burning its refuse inside the church, an action that is against the environmental and sanitation law of the state. He said the church will be re-opened only after it builds new toilets, build a sewage septic tank for the treatment of waste water, remove all illegal attachments built on drainage channels, keep the environment clean and ensure that none of its members trade on the expressway.

Former governor of Plateau State and pioneer chairman of PDP, Solomon Lar died in the early hours of today October 9th in a hospital in the US after protracted illness. He was 80 years old.

Soloman Lar was a member of the first national parliament when Nigeria gained independence in 1960. He was elected governor of Plateau State from October 1979 until 1983. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Mob Lynches 3 Nigerians For Kidnapping In Guinea

It appears some bad Nigerians are taking their act of kidnapping to other countries. Three Nigerians accused of kidnapping a child were lynched on Tuesday by an angry mob of young rioters in Bissau. AFP reported that the trio was killed after the disappearance of a young boy on Tuesday morning in the capital of Guinea-Bissau.

“Death to Nigerians! Enough is enough, stop! The Nigerians must leave,” chanted the crowd.
A rumour quickly spread across the city that the child had been taken by a group of Nigerians, prompting an angry crowd to gather which security forces were unable to control.

Two friend become millionaires after playing Baba Ijebu with 400 naira

Two friends Saheed Oniloyi and Olashile Ali have reportedly won a total sum of N8m (Eight million naira) with a N400 stake.

According to the report, the friends utilized their understanding of football bets to predict the outcome of matches of some Europa league and some Italian football league matches.

According to E! News, the Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner has separated from her husband of 22 years, Bruce Jenner. They've been living apart for a while but officially announced their separation today. Eonline.com reports...

"We are living separately and we are much happier this way," the pair exclusively tell E! News. "But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority."

Ventures Africa magazine has released their list of the top 10 Richest People in Africa 2013.

The combined fortune of Africa’s 55 billionaires is $143.88 billion. The average net worth of the members of this exclusive club is $2.6 billion, while the median age of the richest people in Africa is 65 years. The oldest billionaires are Kenyan industrialist, Manu Chandaria, and Egyptian property tycoon, Mohammed Al-Fayed, both aged 84. The youngest billionaires are Mohammed Dewji of Tanzania and Igho Sanomi, a Nigerian oil trader. They are both 38 years old.

Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt lead the pack with the highest number of billionaires at 20, nine and eight respectively. Algeria, Angola, Zimbabwe and Swaziland only have one billionaire each. In all, there are 10 African countries represented on the list.

Three women made it into the rankings. The richest of them is Folorunsho Alakija, a Nigerian fashion designer and oil tycoon worth some $7.3 billion by our estimates.

After it has connected, click on “mobile internet” option on the left bottom corner of the Blackberry Desktop manager, a list of mobile service providers will be listed, you can select from the list but if you don’t find your carrier click on the “Add custom” button, A Box will appear for filling settings.
In the settings box you can fill all your necessary settings e.g for MTN Nigeria settings type in any name as profile name like MTN BIS, then username and password as ‘web’ then access point as ‘blackberry.net’
Click ok and then save.

Now you can use your blackberry phones as modems.
