Over 36,000 Armed Men Deployed In Lagos State In Readiness For Today

To ensure activities go as planned during the Presidential and National Assembly elections today, March 28th; over 36, 000 armed men will be on ground to help keep Lagos in check.
This follows the deployment of soldiers across the country, as announced by Coordinator; National Information Centre, Mike Omeri, at a recent news conference in Abuja.
Quoting Vanguard, Omeri said there was adequate provision of security during the election period, even as he called on Nigerians to abide by the restriction of vehicular movement as ordered by the police.
In furtherance, the Lagos State Police boss, Kayode Aderanti, revealed at a meeting today that the armed men were selected from The Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, and the Nigerian Air Force. Others were drawn from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Department of State Security, and the Nigerian Immigration Service amongst others.
Tribune reports that Aderanti has in place about 500 patrol vans, 100 buses, 100 motocycles, black maria trucks, one luxury bus, three Armored Personnel Carriers, five gun boats, and two helicopters in readiness for the March 28th Presidential and National Assembly elections in Lagos State.

Warning against all forms of violence and disruptive activities, Aderanti asked that political thugs and their sponsors desist from acts capable of creating unrest, as he warned that security agents would spare no offender from the full wrath of the law.
“There is no doubt that the stakes are indeed high. On our part, we have done the needful. We have done our requisite training and other preparations necessary for hitch free elections, together with other security agencies represented,” Tribune reports CP, Kayode Aderanti, as saying.
