According to a post on the Facebook wall of the National Orientation Agency Nigeria, an accomplice and informant of terror sect, Boko Haram, Hafsat Bako, pictured above, has been arrested. Details of her arrest are still sketchy but will bring an update later.

Beyonce fuels Jay Z cheating rumours by changing lyrics to songs

Since the elevator attack incident, there have been rumours that Beyonce and Jay Z are having marital problems, with Jay Z being accused of cheating on Queen Bey.

Beyonce, over the weekend, fueled those cheating rumors by changing the lyrics to songs during their show in Ohio on Saturday...almost like she was done pretending that everything was perfect between them.

During her performance of Resentment, a song about a partner who cheats, Bey, who wore a wedding gown, changed the lyrics. Below are the lyrics Beyonce was supposed to sing:

Redefining Nollywood Make-up

Professional makeup and beauty expert Vanessa Odofin has said that make up in Nollywood movies do not portray the characters suitably enough for the role they are playing. The makeup artists in the industry need to be professionally trained in order to step up their game.

The Nigerian-based make up and beauty expert who has trained over one thousand makeup artists in Nigeria and abroad, believes that a little more professionalism would go a long way in upgrading the standard of our makeup artists and in turn the project that they work on, to bring about a revolution in the Nigerian Film industry. According to Vanessa Odofin “It is the job of a makeup artist to convey believability for instance in the transition of a teenager to an adult in a movie without changing the character and this is one area I believe our Nollywood practitioners can do better than what is obtainable right now, though there are some exceptions to the rule. We want to take makeup artistry to the next level, there is a lot to be achieved in the makeup industry and we want to redefine makeup.”

Her outfit Vanadale is organizing a training for makeup artists, upcoming makeup artists and all those who want to acquire expertise for personal use. The office is located at Ikeja in Lagos. The workshop will be coming up on the 5^th to 19^th of July. She said that the training is not just for Nollywood practitioners alone; individuals who want to know about makeup and those who want to turn makeup artistry into a full time job are also welcomed.

The training session would feature unique course outlines, free start up tools and professional brush sets, work tools and t-shirts, a syndicate session tagged “show me the cash (to outline how to make it in make-up industry).”

Photo: Bridge collapses in Ndi Ebe Abam, Abia State

The popular Igwu bridge linking Ndi Ebe Abam to other towns collapsed yesterday July 1st when a 25 tons tipper carrying gravel plied on it. Fortunately no life was lost but now the villagers say they have been cut off from other towns as a result of the collapsed bridge which served as the only motor-able road through which the indigenes used to connect with other towns.

They sent me the photo and asked that we appeal to the Arochukwu L.G.A. Chairman and Abia State government to come to their aid, saying people residing in the town have been adversely affected by this mishap.

They are appealing to the authorities concerned to help them rebuild the bridge in a modern form that will last longer than the former one which was made with irons and planks and maintained by the indigenes for many years. They also implored the government to help them construct the road which has been neglected for years.

Nollywood director replies Genevieve for describing Nollywood as blande and mediocre

Explaining the reason she's been scarce in Nollywood movies for a while now, Genevieve Nnaji, in an interview with Punch over the weekend, said;

“I guess I haven’t found the right script yet. Creativity and depth are the qualities that I look out for in a script. In the beginning, the movie industry emphasised quantity but things are changing and there is an improvement in trend. I am among the people who advocate for the improvement of the industry. So said, I am constantly watching out for the kind of stories I take part in. I am in support of movies that show a great deal of professionalism and creativity. Having practiced my art in international & professionally produced stories like ‘Ije’; ‘Mirror boy;’ and ‘Tango with me’, I don’t think I can return to the blandness and mediocrity that characterized Nollywood in the past.”

Well, one Nollywood movie director wasn't happy about Genevieve's description of their industry. In a statement released today, Mac Collins Chidebe (pictured right) said Genevieve should come and improve Nollywood instead of blasting the industry that brought her fame and fortune. Rick Ross ARRESTED IN NORTH CAROLINA

Rick Ross was arrested in North Carolina last night … all
because cops say he BLEW OFF a court date stemming
from a weed arrest in town last year. The Boss was taken
into custody by the Greensboro Police Department late
Friday night … right after his performance at SuperJam
2014 at the Greensboro Coliseum. Officials say there had
been a warrant out for Ross — because he never showed
up to court to deal with a marijuana arrest in Greensboro
back in 2013 … so, when he came back to N.C., cops
pounced. We’re told Ross was cooperative with police –
and has since been released from custody after posting
bail.Weed — maybe it really does affect memory??

An attack, described as massive by residents, is currently
ongoing in Kautikari village, seven kilometres away from
Chibok town in the southern part of Borno state.
Villagers in Chibok made a distress call to journalists and
security operatives in Maiduguri calling for urgent help.
A text message sent by a resident at about 9:30 a.m.
reads; “Massive attack on Kautikari now. All security
agencies should be notified, and call for divine help now.”
An official of Department of Security Service confirmed
the ongoing attack to PREMIUM TIMES but asked not to
be named.
“Yes, we also received the report, I believe action is being
taken about now…but no one has been able to ascertain
the nature or magnitude of the attack for now”, said the
security source.
The extremist Boko Haram sect has continued to attack
villages in Borno and neighbouring states, killing
defenceless civilians.

JOKE OF THE DAY

I liked a girl named Stephanie, but never had
the guts to ask her out. So I met a native
doctor called “Mallam sabi“. All he demanded
from me was an internet modem, which I bought for
him. He then gave me a ring called “Touch &
Follow”. He said “all I needed to do was to
touch her with the ring & she will follow
me”. I was excited because that’s pretty easy
to do. I saw her passing the next day, and I
created a scene just to draw her attention &
touched her like it was a mistake. I was
expecting her to follow me, but she didn’t,
she rather moved on & was pressing her
phone. I was disappointed & went home.
Upon getting home, I checked my phone and
saw 9 notifications showing Stephanie
Douglas is now following me on twitter,
instagram, kik, badoo, viber & sent me a
friend request on facebook, sent me a
message on whatsapp. I called Mallam
immediately to inform him & he replied me.
“My Son, we have upgraded o, everything is
now digital” bye bye to local things, Welcome
to the global community. That’s why I didn’t
ask for Yam, egg, fowl, brain of mosquito,
groundnut oil, but a modem to keep me
online.

34 year old Jimi 'Poster Boy' Manuwa is a Nigerian-British mixed martial artist, who competes in the light heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC, and is blazing an amazing trail for Nigerians in the MMA sporting field. 

Jimi, the grandson of Sir Samuel Manuwa (first neuro surgeon in Africa) was born in the U.S but came home to Nigeria when he was about a year old and then moved to England with his parents at when he was 10.  His family lived in Lagos and he attended Corona School in Apapa. 

Jimi is ranked #11 in the official UFC light heavyweight rankings. He's been cage fighting since 2003 and has won all his fights

After being away for 24 years, Jimi returned home to Nigeria this past Sunday June 29th. Continue..

Nicki Minaj says she almost died last week...and blames TMZ

During her acceptance speech for Best Female Rapper at the BET Awards on Sunday night, Nicki Minaj revealed she almost died last week but she was afraid to call an ambulance because she didn't want it to end up on TMZ. Nicki made the shocking admission on stage, explaining;

"The other day, literally I didn't tell anybody this, I really thought I was about to die. Like, I was saying my prayers to die. And I didn't even want to call the ambulance because I thought, 'Well if I call the ambulance, it's going to be on TMZ.'

"I would rather sit there and die. And it made me realize I don't care what anybody got to say. I'm going to do me."
