Army Reinforce Troops Fighting Boko Haram

soldiers Army Reinforce Troops Fighting Boko Haram
The Nigerian army on Monday night reinforced the troops deployed to Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States, with over 30 armoured tanks to crush the dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram.

ThisDay report that the decision was propelled by the Federal Government directives that the army should crush the insurgency in the North-eastern part of the country.

It was gathered that there were movement of about two trailer loads of over 30 tanks around 9 pm along the Abuja-Lokoja Expressway.

The tanks, which looked rusty with the “UN” inscription on them, appeared to have been offloaded recently from the seaports and were heading towards the north.

Efforts to get confirmation from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and Defence Headquarters (DHQ) proved abortive as their spokespersons were unavailable, but an intelligent officer revealed that the tanks were disguised with the UN insignia on them in order to conceal their place of origin.

Meanwhile, Borno youth vigilantes, popularly known as the Civilian JTF on Tuesday, refuted reports that the terrorists had taken over Bama, insisting that it was Boko Haram, who recorded major casualties as 130 of its members were killed with 35 others arrested by the military.
