A Nigerian soldier serving in Borno state took to his twitter account to express his anger over poor welfare and weapons given to Nigerian soldiers who are currently at war with Boko Haram members. He also called out the Nigerian Defence spokesperon, Gen. Olukolade. See the tweets below...

Obasanjo lashes out at president Jonathan again...

Former Pres. Olusegun Obasanjo today took another swipe at the administration of Pres. Jonathan, accusing him and his government of depleting Nigeria's oil savings which according to him was at $45billion when he left office and had depreciated over time to $30billion. He made the accusations while receiving some South-West women leaders at his residence in Abeokuta, earlier today

"Our economy should not have been this bad. When I was leaving office about eight years ago, I left a very huge reserve after we had paid all our debts. Almost $25billion we kept in what they called excess crude. The excess from the budget we were saving as reserve for the rainy days. When we left in May 2007, the reserve was said to have been raised to $35billion. But today, that reserve has been depleted!

One Direction singer Harry Styles made a shocking sexual comment on band mate Niall Horan's instagram photo that sent their fans into meltdown on social media. Niall posted this selfie with his tongue out on his instagram page and Harry posted a jaw dropping sexual comment under the photo. Harry wrote "Can I sit on your face?" then added "Please?".

Fans had to wonder if the 20 year old had been hacked or if it was a fake account...but Harry wasn't hacked and it's his real account. He was just being naughty. 1D fans have been talking about it all day

Khloe Kardashian posted this on her instagram page asking fans to guess which of the Kardashian girls is pregnant as a pregnancy test is flashed. She posted a photo of herself, Kim, Kris and Kendall Jenner but ruled out their mother Kris Jenner by calling 'Miss Menopause". So who is it? Kim already said she's not pregnant, Kendall is 19 and a model...possibly not her, so is it Khloe herself? She told fans to watch out for the answer in new episodes of the family reality show and later deleted the post.

If you cannot lie, get out of politics- Niger state governor

Governor of Niger state, Aliyu Babangida says that one has to tell lies to survive in the political scene of today, adding that there is no morality in politics. He says if anyone wants to pursue morality, they should go and become Imams or Pastors. The Governor stated this while inaugurating the PDP guber campaign committee in Minna the state capital yesterday January 5th.

"If you cannot lie, get out of politics. Anything you are involved in has its own rule. You are in politics to win, win first and let other things follow. Don’t be the one crying louder; lest you will be the one ‎they will take to court. If you are talking of honesty or morals, go and become an Imam or pastor. Politics cannot be the way it used to be.

AFRIFF 2014: Festival website records huge traffic

There are indications that the record of attendees for this year’s Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) will surpass that of previous editions, with 250 applications already received within the first week of registration.

Feelers from the festival secretariat has it that the ongoing registration exercise has recorded an impressive number of requests from filmmakers in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Cameroon, South Africa, Senegal, Mali, Malawi, Uganda and several other African countries.

Reports say the pack received so far also includes requests from Africans in the Diaspora as well as individual filmmakers and film companies in Europe, United Kingdom, United States and Canada.
For the festival which is in its fourth year, the success story is unprecedented, even as organisers say the best is yet to come.

So Chelsea and Arsenal battled on sunday..and of course Chelsea won 2-0. we always win! Lol. But 20 minutes into the match, Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger walked over to Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho and pushed him after they disagreed over a tackle by a Chelsea player on an Arsenal player. While protesting to an official over the tackle, Wenger walked too close to Mourinho's side and Mourinho also started protesting to an official. An angry Wenger walked up to Mourinho and pushed him in the chest and of course Mourinho pushed him back. Other officials broke them up.

The two coaches didn't shake hands after the match! Hehe. Arsene Wenger has never beaten a Mourinho side so there's always tension between these two. See the dramatic photos below...
