On 11/09/14, a company of NA soldiers attempted to overrun a Boko Haram position in Borno. Due to the low altitude, the plane suffered significant damage from the terrorists' gun fire. Wing Commander Hedima & his partner realized that they were going to crash.
Instead of hurriedly parachuting to safety within Nigerian controlled territory, they chose to embark on a mission to destroy as many terrorists and their weapons as possible. They parachuted out at the last minute but not before ensuring their plane slammed into a column of terrorists in which 63 Boko Haram members were killed as a result of their bravery. Wing Commander Hedima was captured.

The 33-year-old cameraman and writer started showing symptoms of the disease on Wednesday Oct. 1st and immediately quarantined himself after suspecting he might have contracted the disease.
He then went to the Doctors Without Borders test center in Monrovia, Liberia where it was confirmed he had the disease. He is expected to be evacuated from Liberia to the United States immediately for treatment.
Four other NBC News team members who have shown no signs of the infection will also return to the US to undergo precautionary quarantine.

Dimeji Bankole loses 7 year old daughter to sickle cell disease
"With gratitude to Almighty Allah and with heavy hearts we announce the demise of our daughter Yewande Semiat Bankole aged 7yrs at a London hospital. Yewande is the grand daughter of Chief Alani Suara Bankole and the daughter of Rt Hon. Dimeji Sabur Bankole.
Yewande was born with HbSS Sickle cell disease. She was a radiant girl who struggled with the disease. We originally managed her condition at a Lagos hospital but later transferred to a London hospital. Sadly we lost her at 10.30pm on Wednesday October 1st, 2014.Her remains will be buried according to Islamic rites.
We wish to thank you for your prayers and support at this very trying time.
May almighty Allah make our affairs easy…

Ghana plans to export electricity to Nigeria
Ghanaian president
John Mahama, said that there are plans by his govt to start
exporting electricity generated in Ghana to Nigeria and other West African countries. He said this while speaking at the Global Business and Economic Forum in Dubai yesterday October 1st,
"We have given priority to electricity generation in our country. We have prioritized energy in such a way that we want to become the hub for power production in West Africa. We want to generate electricity to the point that excess power can be exported to Nigeria, Ivory Coast and other countries that have power deficit,” he said.
He
said to achieve this, his country secured export-import financing
from China and also got special funds from Abu Dhabi to commence series of
power generation projects. He added that development of a third
hydropower dam was already at an advanced stage in Ghana.
