IG of Police MD Abubakar set to remarry in September

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar is getting ready to re-marry a year and a half after loosing his wife, Maryam Abubakar, to cancer. (Mrs Abubakar died in January 2012)

IG Abubakar will be engaging in a three-day wedding ritual to 35 year old Safiya (pictured above with him). Their wedding proper will take place on Saturday September 14th.

US Soldier Robert Bales Who Massacred 16 Afghans Sentenced For Life

US army sergeant Robert Bales, who killed 16
Afghan villagers, was sentenced to life in prison
with no possibility of parole on Friday.

The prosecutor
called Bales,
who killed 16 Afghan villagers during a
rampage,the �worst kind of criminal� who should
spend the rest of his life behind bars.

A six-member military panel returned their
sentence after less than two hours of deliberations
following a harrowing five-day hearing.

In final submissions before a military hearing
passes sentence on Robert Bales, 40, the
prosecution said the soldier had shown no remorse
for his actions and should never be given the
opportunity of parole.

�There is only one appropriate sentence for the
senseless slaughter of 16 innocent people � a
sentence reserved for the worst crimes and worst
criminals � confinement for life without eligibility
for parole,� Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph Morse said.
Bales pleaded guilty in June to killing the villagers
in a deal brokered by his defence team to avoid the
death penalty.

In a chilling closing speech, the prosecution
recounted the horrific trail of destruction left by
Bales on the night of March 11, 2012 when he
decamped from his base to attack a nearby village
in the Panjwayi district of southern Kandahar
province.

The prosecution showed graphic photos of Bales�
victims including an old woman who was the
soldier�s last victim.

�Bales stomped on her head with such force that
the next morning when her nephew tried to move
her, her eyeballs fell out of her head,� Lt-Col
Morse told the six-member panel.

The prosecution also dismissed Bales� unsworn
statement to the hearing on Thursday when he
apologised for his actions but offered no
explanation.

�Sergeant Bales is a man with no moral compass,
with no man to blame and nothing to blame but
himself,� Lt-Col Morse said.

He �liked how it felt, liked the power, liked the
respect he thought it gave him. Because he
doesn�t care a shred for any Afghan, he thinks
they�re all bad, he liked murdering.�

The soldier�s actions had directly impacted no
fewer than 48 children, the prosecutor said.

�48 children directly impacted by Sergeant Bales
action � murdered, injured, witness to a murder,
or left fatherless by Staff Sergeant Robert Bales,�
Lt-Col Morse said. �Bales asks you for mercy. But
is his eventual freedom worth the life of a
grandmother, one innocent child, even one
innocent person, an entire family?

�There will never be enough time for Haji Wazeer
to share with you the pain he feels in his heart,�
Lt-Col Morse added citing the grief of one Afghan
villager who lost 11 family members in the attack.

�Is Sergeant Bales� freedom worth that? The
memories of a dead husband or father or brother?�

�He dishonoured his profession, he dishonoured
his army, and he dishonoured his country.

�Send a message to him � he doesn�t stand among
heroes and he never will. Not today and not 100
years from now.�

�He should be known by only one official title from
this day to the day he dies: inmate,� Lt-Col Morse
said as he completed his closing speech.
Bales� defence suggested they expected the
soldier to spend the rest of his life in jail.

�We�re not here to decide whether he walks out of
this court room into the sunshine having not been
punished for what happened. He�s going to be
confined for life,� Emma Scanlin said.

�What we�re asking is simply that years from now,
if ever, if ever, if he has done what someone else
deems to be necessary for him someday to walk
outside that that decision can be made down the
road, that�s all.�

Bales pleaded guilty in June to killing the villagers
in a deal brokered by his defence team to avoid the
death penalty.

The sentencing hearing must decide whether
Bales will be allowed to seek parole after a
minimum of 20 years behind bars or spend the
rest of his life in prison.

FG Partners Six Universities On Human Capacity Development In Water Sector

The Federal Government has expressed its
determination to continue to partner with
institutions of higher learning in the country to
enhance human capacity development in the
water sector.

This is sequel
to the
establishment of water resources capacity
building centre�s in six of the Nigerian
universities, under the National Water Resources
Capacity Building Network programme
(NWRCBNet), where the concerned institutions
will offer courses in postgraduate studies in water
related courses.

While receiving the Vice Chancellors of the six
universities and the management of the National
Water Resources Institute, Kaduna, in her office in
Abuja, the Minister of Water Resources, Mrs
Sarah Reng Ochekpe, challenged the universities
to further promote water education in order to
strengthen the capacity of the sector, adding that
water is important to life, hence the need to pay
closer attention to develop the sector.

Ochekpe asked the implementors of the network
to inspire young people to take interest in water
related issues, and that it was in realization of
their critical role to the sector that the Ministry of
Water Resources, along with the National Water
Resources Institute, introduced �Junior Water
Prize� competition last year, to enable young
people participate in an essay writing with focus
on water related issues.

The minister enjoined the six universities to
engage other universities to set up programme in
water studies, as part of the efforts to develop the
sector with the necessary skills. Earlier, the
Executive Director of the National Water
Resources Institute (NWRI), Kaduna, Dr Olusanjo
Bamgboye, who led the delegation of the Vice
Chancellors to the minister, said that the institute
had supported the National Water Resources
Capacity Building Network (NWRBCNet) with a
seed fund of 12million naira for the six universities
with each of them receiving 2million naira.

Landlord Demolishes OJB’s House AndStudio

from India as it has been demolished by his

15 Signs Obama Will Start War With Syria

The Obama administration is actually considering an attack on Syria even though the American people are overwhelmingly against it.

Obama does not have Congressional approval to start a war, and he will never get approval for military action from the UN because it will be blocked by Russia. This is setting up to become a colossal foreign policy disaster for the United States.
A potential war with Syria has been brought to the forefront because of a chemical weapons attack near Damascus last week that killed as many as 1,400 people. The Obama administration and several other western nations are blaming this attack on the Assad regime.
But others are pointing out that it would make absolutely no sense for the Assad regime to do such a thing. They appear to be winning the civil war, and Assad knows that Obama has previously said that the use of chemical weapons in Syria would be a “red line” for the United States.
So why would the Assad regime launch a brutal chemical weapons attack against women and children just miles from where UN inspectors were staying?  Why would Assad risk war with the United States and the rest of NATO?
Assad would have to be extremely stupid or extremely suicidal to do such a thing. The ones that benefit from this chemical weapons attack are the jihadist rebels. The odds of foreign intervention in the conflict just went way, way up.
We will probably never learn the real truth about who was actually behind that attack. And even if it had not happened, the US and the rest of NATO would have probably come up with another justification to go to war anyway.
They appear absolutely obsessed with getting rid of Assad, but they have not really thought through the consequences. The following are 15 signs that Obama has already made the decision to go to war with Syria:
1. Syria has agreed to allow UN officials to inspect the site of the recent chemical weapons attack that killed up to 1,400 people, but a "senior US official" says that such an inspection would be "too late to be credible."
2. According to ABC News, the White House is saying that there is "very little doubt" that the Assad regime was behind the deadly chemical weapons attack last week.
3. Four US warships with ballistic missiles are moving into position in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. If the command is given, they will be able to rain Tomahawk cruise missiles down on targets inside Syria within minutes.
US defense officials told The Associated Press that the Navy had sent a fourth warship armed with ballistic missiles into the eastern Mediterranean Sea but without immediate orders for any missile launch into Syria.
US Navy ships are capable of a variety of military actions, including launching Tomahawk cruise missiles, as they did against Libya in 2011 as part of an international action that led to the overthrow of the Libyan government.

5. On Saturday, Barack Obama met with his national security team to discuss what actions should be taken in Syria.

7. After a phone conversation with British Prime Minister David Cameron about the situation in Syria, the White House announced that both leaders expressed "grave concern" about the chemical weapons attack that took place last week.
8. Military commanders from the United States, Britain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, France, Italy and Canada are meeting in Amman, Jordan on Sunday to coordinate plans for upcoming attacks on Syria.
9. According to France’s second largest newspaper, rebel forces that have been trained by the CIA have been pouring toward Damascus "since mid-August."
According to some information, the regime’s opponents, supervised by Jordanian, Israeli and American commandos moving towards Damascus since mid-August. This attack could explain the possible use of the Syrian president to chemical weapons.

You have to have the pride and stamina to tell them boldly you know what you are doing; they didn’t bring you to the industry, you will leave when you want to and you leave because you want to.
Where do you want to or hope to be in the next 10 years?
In the next 10 years, I know I will be married with kids. But I think it all depends on what God has fashioned out for me. I know I will still be in the entertainment industry or the fashion world or whatever.
What do you like most about stardom because it appears you don’t want to tell us about your love life?
The fact that it opens doors for you is what I like most about it. You walk into a place and every other person is queuing up for one thing or the other, they just start to recognize you. Oh! come in, come in…It’s actually a door opener for us or for me. It has brought respect, especially when you do what you are doing well. What I hate most about it is the price that we get to pay for stardom – negative publicity, the untrue scandals; actually, the only thing I hate about it is the bad press.
What will you say is the worst story ever written about you in the press?
So many bad things. But the one I hated most was the one of Fred Amata and I, which I don’t know where they got it from. It hurt me so much. It was not just fair.
How do you feel anytime you read negative things about your person in the media?
Certainly, I don’t feel good…
What if the stories are true, but maybe you were not expecting it to be published?
It’s rarely been the truth. Maybe a bit of it, but that’s not how it happened. The press never tells the story the way it is. It’s usually a bit from here and a bit from there. For a very long time, they have not written anything true about me…
How did you come into the movie industry?
I have been acting since I was eight in Ripples. That was how I got into acting. For movies, I think that should be 1998 in Most Wanted. I met Torino (Emeka Ojukwu) in a bus and to my greatest surprise, he recognized me, from Ripples, when I was about eight, nine. He asked why I left the industry. He later invited me to this audition – Most Wanted. I got a role, a “waka-pass” and that was it.
But the story we heard was that Kunle Coker brought you in and that both of you even dated?
Yes, Kunle Coker was actually my boyfriend. But he did not bring me into the industry.
They said he was heartbroken when you deserted him. What led to the collapse of your relationship?
Well, relationships come and go.
Is it true that you dumped him for Fred Amata?
Fred Amata? I’ve never had anything to do with Fred Amata. In Ripples, I used to call Fred Amata uncle. So, I don’t see the reason why I should date Fred Amata. Fred Amata and I are just friends. I don’t have anything to do with him.
Are you now saying that apart from Kunle Coker, you have not dated any other person in the industry?
I will not say that and I will not say anything on the contrary either. I don’t think it is your business. It’s my personal life.
What do you find most attractive in a man?
The fact that a man will take me for who I am, not for what he hears or what he believes. I like people who take me for the me they see. That’s the most important thing. And have regard for me. And trust too.
What do you think is the biggest mistake that men make with women?
Everyone makes mistakes. But to me, I will not tolerate any man who hits women. To me, that’s evil.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
I believe in infatuation at first sight. Love is a very strong feeling. It does not just come. People think infatuation is being in love. They are two different things. You don’t know anything yet until you get to meet the person and you begin to fall in love. Not just physically, but externally with the person.
Can you recollect the first time you fell in love?
Yes!
Tell us about it.
I think we met at a show. This was when I was in secondary school and we shared a lot of things in common – singing. It was a case of two compatible people who were so much in love with each other and…
(Interruption) So, what eventually happened?
Like I said, relationships must come and go. You can’t help everything that happens. Some things just happen for no reason.
What’s your definition of love?
Love has to be understanding, caring. Love, to me, is being with somebody for 24 hours without being bored. Love is catching your breath every time you see whoever you are in love with. Love is friendship, love is understanding and love is trust.
Do you believe in being faithful in a relationship?
Yeah! I’m very faithful.
Can you date a fan?
I’ve never dated a fan. And I don’t know if I can. But people come around to toast as per fans. But it’s a matter of nicely telling them off. There are different reasons why fans like or love artistes. So, it actually depends on why my fan loves me. It depends. Although, I don’t think it is advisable to date a fan. The reason being that people are in love with what they see on the screen, not the real you.
What’s your idea of a sensual treat?
Quiet time in a place surrounded by nature, water, trees…less talk, more of feelings, let the feelings show instead.

I guess it’s my eyes. I think I like my eyes.

That God continues to bless me. Especially with the right man and a good family.

No, no, no. The thing is just that there comes a time in your life where everything is going fine. And all you say to yourself is after this, what next? After everything, you have to get married as far as you are a woman.

Blue.
What are your hobbies?
Singing, dancing…
Let’s have your bio-data. People don’t seem to know much about you?
I’m from Aboh-Mbaise in Imo State. I went to Kemistar Nursery and Primary School, Surulere; Methodist Girls High School, followed by one in Ikeja. I kept on moving. But ended up at Girls Secondary School, Akwakuma in Owerri, Imo State.
Why have you not furthered your education?
Life is not the same for everybody. Some people are so lucky, they come out of secondary school and they go straight to university because they have the back-up of people and it’s so easy. It looks simple…mine was different. But I’m determined. Definitely, I’m gonna go back to school. I wanted to make money, I love my money, I cherish my own money. So, I will go back when I’ve made enough. But even while I’m there, I won’t stop working.
Tell us about your parents, what do they do?
My parents are there. My mum is a teacher and my dad is retired.
What was your dad into before his retirement?
He was a bank manager with African Continental Bank (ACB)…I’m the fourth of eight children, the third girl. We are four girls, four boys. I come from a very strong Christian family. And I think that has been able to have an effect on my life, especially since I came into the industry. You see, even when people go out to say all sorts, my mother knows the kind of daughter she has. She knows the limit that I can go.
She must have been devastated when you took in, in your teens?
Well, well…I think so.
What was your childhood like?
My childhood was fun. It was fun. You don’t get to get all that these days.
What’s the greatest complement that has ever come your way?
My complexion.

Pastor Mistakenly Kills Himself With His Own Gun

The Parish Priest of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, Sobe, in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, Rev. Father Peter Ayala, was, Sunday morning, found dead in his apartment, few hours before he was due to conduct the 7a.m mass.

The cleric was said to be cleaning his double-barreled gun inside his apartment within the church premises, when the gun reportedly went off and killed him.

It was gathered that the incident took place in the early hours of Sunday before the Priest dressed up for the mass even as worshippers were said to be gathering for the service.

The incident, it was learnt, threw the church into confusion as mass servers and church elders made frantic efforts to know what went wrong with congregation waiting for the mass to begin but found the priest lying death in his apartment.

The elders were said have later reported the incident to the Bishop of the Auchi Diocese, Dr Gabriel Duniya, who it was gathered conducted a quick investigation with security agents and confirmed that the priest died when the rifle he was cleaning went off.

The Edo State Police Public Relations, DSP Moses Eguavoen said the incident was unfortunate, adding that the state command was yet to get the full details of what transpired before the Priest�s death.
