The Liberian president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, announced yesterday that their country is to receive sample doses of experimental drug, ZMapp to treat doctors infected with Ebola

A statement published on Mrs Sirleaf's website on Monday said the US had approved a request from Liberia to ship the medicine after a direct appeal to US President Barack Obama on Friday.

But spokesperson for the US Health and Human Services (HHS) Department said US authorities had simply assisted in connecting the Liberian government with the drug's manufacturer, insisting that the drug company had worked directly with the Liberian government.

Meanwhile the deaths from Ebola has passed the 1,000 mark. Late yesterday, the World Health Organization said 1,013 people have now died from Ebola.

Bill Gates, worth $76billion, his wife Melinda and their three children Rory, Jennifer and Phoebe are currently holidaying in a super luxury yacht moored off the coast of Sardinia, Italy.

The 436ft yacht called The Serene is owned by Stolichnaya vodka magnate, Yuri Scheffler, and is the world's 9th largest yacht. It has two helicopter landing pads, 12 staterooms, which includes a master suite, one VIP stateroom, seven double cabins and three twin cabins. It has an indoor climbing wall, a dedicated children's playroom, a fully equipped spa and club, three external swimming pools and one indoors, and an underwater viewing room. ISIS to Christians in Iraq: convert to Islam or be killed. Obama authorizes US airstrike to save non-muslims trapped on mountains

In a televised late-night statement from the White House yesterday August 7th, US president Barack Obama said he has authorized US airstrikes in Northern Iraq to defend hundreds of thousands of non-Muslims being hunted down and slaughtered by ISIS, the al-Qaida breakaway Islamic State. This is coming weeks after American military planes carried out airdrops of humanitarian aid to thousands of Iraqi Yazidis surrounded by ISIS militants and desperately in need of food and water.

ISIS has been ruthlessly hunting and slaughtering members of the ancient Yazidi religion, a faith derived from Zoroastrianism, Christianity and Islam, who ISIS have denounced as devil-worshipers on account of their ancient set of beliefs. Ebola: 2 fresh cases confirmed in Lagos, GEJ summons emergency meeting

The Federal government has confirmed two more cases of Ebola virus disease in Lagos. This brings to a total of 9 confirmed cases in Nigeria, seven infected with the disease and two dead.

The federal government also said about 139 persons who have had direct or indirect contact with the confirmed cases are currently under surveillance.

Meanwhile President Jonathan has summoned an emergency meeting at the State House Abuja over the virus outbreak in the country.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Friday in Abuja declared the control and containment of the Ebola virus in Nigeria, a National Emergency.

Accordingly, the President has directed the Federal Ministry of Health to work in collaboration with the State Ministries of Health, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant agencies to ensure that all possible steps are taken to effectively contain the threat of the Ebola virus in line with international protocols and best practices. There was panic in Victoria Island today after a suspected Ebola patient was found to be admitted at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC clinic on Muri Okunola.

The patient was said to have first been admitted at First Consultant Medical Centre around the same time Liberian Patrick Sawyer was being treated at the clinic. Men suited in white safety clothing and an ambulance were seen at the hospital around one 1pm today.

Though there's no definite confirmation that the patient is infected with Ebola, the Management of NNPC Clinic this evening announced the indefinite shutdown of the clinic.

The management said its a pre-emptive step and also said they have reported the issue to the Federal Ministry of Health as well as officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Health. More pics below...

Lagos State Government has built Isolation Centers for patients with symptoms of the Ebola virus at the Mainland Hospital in Yaba. The isolation ward is situated at the back of the hospital and are tents
under which patients are camped and fenced in with planks.

The isolation centre was built to help contain the situation and reduce possible spread of the disease.

Lagos Governor Babatunde Fashola, Commissioners for Health, Dr Jide Idris, and Special Adviser on Public Health, Dr Yewande Adeshina visited the place today and said the facility is ready for use.

Less than a day after US president Barack Obama authorized US airstrikes on Islamist militants, ISIS, in Iraq, American military jets have launched devastating air raids, killing many ISIS members.

This afternoon two F18 warplanes attacked ISIS and their vehicles with 500lb laser-guided bombs.

ISIS is said to be the most well equipped and richest terror group in the world after they sized weapons from Iraqi military and also took weapons left behind by the US after they left Iraq in 2011. Some months back, they attacked Iraqi central bank and took $400million in cash.

America has also dropped relief supplies to hundreds of thousands of non-Muslim who are trapped in Sinjar mountains after fleeing their homes following deadly attacks by ISIS.

In Liberia where the deadly disease is really spreading, relatives of Ebola victims have started dumping infected bodies of their loved ones in the streets of Monrovia for fear of catching the deadly disease, defying government order to leave the relatives at home.

Liberia's Information Minister, Lewis Brown, told Reuters that this act is putting more people at risk

"They are removing the bodies from their homes and are putting them out in the street. They're exposing themselves to the risk of being contaminated. We're asking people to please leave the bodies in their homes and we'll pick them up.'

Usually when a relative is found to be infected with the Ebola virus, government quarantines the rest of the family. Minus catching the disease, this is another reason relatives are dumping bodies in the street, to avoid facing quarantine, and having their homes decontaminated. See more pics below...

Suspected Ebola victim dies in Saudi Arabia

A Saudi Arabian man who was being treated for Ebola-like symptoms died today August 6th at a hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the country's health ministry said.

According to a post on the website of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health, the unidentified 40 year old man was being treated for symptoms of the deadly virus in an isolated ward when he suddenly died after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The website stated that the man had recently visited Sierra Leone, one of the countries being ravaged by the deadly Ebola virus and may have contracted the virus there.

This will be the first suspected Ebola-related death outside Africa since the outbreak. The World Health Organization said today that 932 people have so far died from the virus.

Jay Z/Beyoncé divorce rumor/elevator fight was staged to sell $100m in concert tickets?

That's what some folks think. Tonight August 6th is the last night of the North American leg of Jay Z and Beyonce's On the Run Tour, with two more shows in Paris to go, and according to Billboard, the tour has already grossed over $100 million. Now here's where it gets interesting...

Billboard published an article yesterday titled 'Jay Z, Beyonce and the Rumor Mill: Who's Pulling the Strings?' and they spoke with some experts who feel that not only is the divorce rumours all BS, that Jay Z didn't cheat on Beyonce. They also suspect that the elevator beat down with Solange was all staged...all in time for their first joint tour. They say the power couple wanted to be in the tabloids like never before...to sell concert tickets. And they've sold $100m in tickets, making $5.2m per night!
