WEST BROM SIGN NIGERIAN PLAYER BROWN IDEYE FOR A CLUB RECORD £10M (N2.7BILLION)

The Dynamo Kiev player held talks with the Baggies
yesterday (Fri) and has sealed a deal worth an initial
£9m with a further £1m to come in add-
ons.

He has penned a three-year deal with a further year’s
option if the Baggies still want him.
Head coach Alan Irvine said: “Brown is a quality
striker and I’m looking forward to working with him.
“He’s a strong, quick, powerful player who likes to get
in behind defences and has plenty of Champions
League and international experience.”

Ideye has scored 33 goals in 74 for matches for the

Meanwhile, the Baggies have also agreed a fee with
Derby for wantaway midfielder George Thorne
believed to be in the region of £2m.
The Baggies had already knocked back two bids for
the 21-year-old.
The midfielder starred for the Rams while on loan
last season and recently had a transfer request

The opener stunned the travelling fans at Kingsmeadow. Chelsea conceded a harmless looking early corner but when George Framcomb whipped it in and Bennett out-jumped the Premier League side’s defence Chelsea were stunned.

The visitors had plenty of the ball for the remainder of the first-half but it was largely passed along the back-four and occasionally lent to midfielder anchorman Nemanja Matric who all-too-often played it safe or sidewards.

AFC then produced another shock when they doubled the lead with six minutes of the half left. An ideally lofted pass into Tubbs allowed the tireless forward to control the ball and cut across Kurt Zouma in one movement that left the centre-back perplexed.

Down went Tubbs and Zouma should have got his marching orders as he was clearly the last man but no cards were shown, clearly due to the games ‘friendly’ status.

The only thing Chelsea fans had to smile about, based on Saturday’s performance, was their occasional witty song about Akinfenwa’s hulking figure.

Kris Olsson and Benik Afobe both scored as Arsenal began their pre-season preparations with a tame 2-0 win over Boreham Wood on Saturday.

In their first fixture since lifting the FA Cup in May, Arsene Wenger named a youthful starting XI before making wholesale changes at half-time.

Substitute Olsson opened the scoring with an impudent dink from inside the area eight minutes after the hour before Afobe doubled the lead from the spot late on.

However, Wenger will likely be more pleased to see the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Wojciech Szczesny and Mathieu Flamini all come through the friendly unscathed against the Conference South side.

Yaya Sanogo spurned an early chance for the visitors when he shot straight at Boreham Wood goalkeeper James Russell.

Shay talks about creating an identity for herself in the
music industry and her rivalry with Tiwa savage..

“I think the hardest thing is finding your identity. It
took me two years to come up with Murda. Murda
recently knocked Dorobucci off the top spot on the
Naija Top 20 list. I never imagined having a song
that would do that to a Don Jazzy song. But it
happened. It took two years to achieve this, but it
happened. This means that my dual identity in that
video and song are obvious. Music fans have
begun to identify with me.”


On Tiwa Savage
“I think people can see the difference between us
now. The reason I don’t see Tiwa as a rival is
because I know who I am. I know that I’m very
much a fun-loving person. I’m still the woman of
the world that many people know. I really don’t
care about the things that are not going to affect
me in a positive way. If it’s not going to affect me
in a positive way, I don’t focus on it or think about
it.

“The difference is that I am deeper into the ragga
stuff than she is. She portrays herself as
somebody that is a cautious RnB artist, which she
is. But I see myself as a commercial and carefree
spirit. I don’t know her to that extent, so I can’t
really speak about her. But I feel that Murda is my
vibe and her vibe is her vibe.”

Nigeria rises from 44 to 34th on FIFA ranking after World Cup outing

The Super Eagles have risen up 10 places from 44 to 34 in a new FIFA World Ranking released today July 17th.

FIFA released the new list based on countries performance at the just concluded World Cup in Brazil. Nigeria went up 10 spots courtesy of the Super Eagles' second round finish at the World Cup.

The Super Eagles now rank third place in the African continent after Algeria and Cote d'Ivoire who came 24th and 25th respectively on the World list.

World champions Germany was ranked number one on the list while Argentina was placed second and Netherlands 3rd. Colombia came 4th, Belgium 5th, Uruguay 6th, Brazil 7th, Spain 8th, Switzerland 9th and France 10th. Continue to see Africa ranking...

Rihanna claps back at Wendy Williams for saying she's not girlfriend material

Wendy Williams is very opinionated and let's her opinion known on her talk show. During a Hot Topics segment on her show some days ago, Wendy discussed Chris Brown and Drake being in the studio together, and slammed their mutual connection, Rihanna.

Speaking about Rihanna, who has dated both Chris and Drake, Wendy Williams said;

"Rihanna is not girlfriend material. She's hot, she's sexy, you do her, then you take your penicillin."
