27-year-old Medical Student Auctioning Her Virginity Online For $550,000
A 27-year-old medical school student who is auctioning off her virginity online is now showing her face five weeks after making her project public.
The student, using the name “Elizabeth Raine” to protect her identity, has been running an online virginity auction since March 31. Bidding ends May 7.
Previously, Raine hid her face in photos and declined to answer questions that might reveal her true identity. She has decided to reveal her face to help attract bids from otherwise skeptical customers.
“I actually didn’t like the anonymity. People mistake it for shame,” she told The Huffington Post. “Plus, there has been some speculation that I’d be outed and I wanted to do it on my own terms.”
The current top bid listed on her website is $300,000, but she said she’s received bids near $550,000 that she’s in the process of confirming.
Raine may be showing her face, but she still fears getting kicked out of the medical school she attends if officials discover she is the “Med School Virgin.”
“Lawyers have different opinions on whether I’d get kicked out, but one lawyer I trust believes it won’t happen,” she said after providing The Huffington Post with passport photos, a student ID and other materials confirming her identity.
Raine claims to have bachelor’s degrees in both biology and engineering and is currently completing a combined MD/PhD program.
She was born in the southwest but spent much of her youth in Saudi Arabia where her father was employed in the oil industry.
Raine cites financial gain as the No. 1 reason for selling her alleged purity y, but adventure, eroticism, scandal and the chance to challenge norms about virginity also play into her decision.
“I’ve been planning this for a year and I’ve had a personal transformation because of it,” she said. “I’m more educated about prostitution, virginity and slut-shaming.”
Raine said her mother died when she was 10. Still, as tragic as that was, she dismisses dime store psychologists who want to use this incident to explain why she is a virgin.
“I am not emotionally damaged, broken or shut off as a result of it,” Raine said. “To the contrary, while it was truly devastating and the only difficult experience I have ever been through, my character and outlook on life are much better for it. I have become more compassionate, strong, motivated, and free in spirit. I have learned not to take life too seriously, but also not to take it for granted.”

Prolific Nollywood actress Amaka Igwe dead
Amaka Igwe is dead.
Amaka was 51 years old at the time of her death.
The iconic Nollywood director and film maker, who is responsible for some of the popular sitcoms and TV soaps like Checkmate and Fuji house of commotion and award winning films like Rattlesnake and Violated reportedly passed on last night, April 28, 2014 after battling with Asthma attack.
Amaka was rushed to a hospital in Enugu (she was in the company of her husband for pre-production preparations for a new Igbo soap) were she gave up the ghost.
Amaka was the founder of Amaka Igwe Studios and Top FM Radio station. She was the Initiator of BOBTV an annual conference of TV producers and equipment manufacturers which has been hosting in Abuja for over a decade now.
Amaka Igwe studied Education/Religion at the University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University). She had a Master’s Degree from the University of Ibadan. She had her early education at All Saints School (Now Trans Ekulu Primary School), Girls High School Awkunanaw, Enugu and Idia College, Benin.
Amaka worked as a lecturer at the Anambra State University of Technology and briefly in oil and Gas, before settling for the motion picture industry.
Amaka, who hails from Obinagu, Enugu, Nigeria is survived by her husband of 21 years Charles Igwe, 3 kids and an aged mother.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Nigerians are world’s heaviest users of ATMs - Report
According to a recently released study by EY, a global business and
financial advisory firm, Nigerian bank customers have been rated the
heaviest users of Automated Teller Machines in the world. The study also
rated Nigeria as one of the top three countries whose bank customers
use social media when making decisions on selecting a financial service
provider. The study also shows that Nigerian bank customers have the
highest banking sensitivity and are the second highest globally to close
accounts based on poor experience.
EY’s Advisory Banking Sector Leader for Africa, Mr.
Colin Daley said in a statement that they came to the conclusion after sampling 32,000 bank customers in 43
countries including Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
"Nigerian bank customers have the highest level of trust for primary financial service providers in Africa and second globally behind India. Twenty-four per cent of Nigerian customers have experienced a problem with their banks that required resolution. Seventy-two per cent of customers were either very satisfied or satisfied with the response that they received. However, 28 per cent were less than satisfied

A hostage negotiator in direct contact with the kidnappers of more than 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria tells Channel 4 News their safe release is "within reach", but that their fate rests on a knife-edge.
The girls, we believe, are alive but they have been moved from the location to which they were originally taken," the intermediary told Channel 4 News. "It would not be hard to engineer a deal. It looks like they want to release them."
The kidnappers have warned, however, that attempts by the military to launch a rescue attempt "may result in the deaths of many of the captives".They want a way out," said the negotiator, who has long experience of dealing directly with the Islamist group Boko Haram in previous hostage crises.
