Video: Keita throws water bottle at Pepe & refuses to shake hands

Things briefly got out of hand ahead of Tuesday evening’s friendly in Dallas after an incident involving the midfielder and the defender

Roma midfielder Seydou Keita caused uproar ahead of his side’s pre-season friendly against Real Madrid by refusing to shake Pepe‘s hand and throwing a water bottle at the Portugal international.

The two have endured a troubled relationship ever since Keita’s time at Barcelona, when the midfielder accused Pepe of racism after a Spanish Supercup match between Madrid and Barca in 2011.

The 34-year-old had clearly not forgotten about the incident and blanked his nemesis when both teams were shaking hands before kick-off.

Keita then threw a water bottle in Pepe’s direction, too, leading to a minor brawl on the pitch involving Sergio Ramos among others.

Meanwhile, Pepe kept his calm following the Malian midfielder’s actions and a smile appeared on his face after the projectile narrowly missed him.

Things eventually calmed down after a brief conversation between Xabi Alonso and Keita and Roma would go on to beat Madrid 1-0 in the friendly in Dallas.

Guests using toilet at a newly opened posh hotel in Berlin can be seen from the street by passers-by after architects messed up the window design.

Several passers-by on the street below the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin have been taking pictures of guests at the hotel as they use the toilets in their room, prompting the hotel to put up notices which read: ‘Please be careful, not only the monkeys are watching", pending when they fix the blunder

According to reports, the architect who designed the restaurant area in the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin thought the toilets should be placed next to the floor-to-ceiling windows, despite the building being only ten storeys tall.
The hotel, which offers great views of the Berlin Zoo, unfortunately also now offers jobless pedestrians an eye-ful if they look up.

10 year old girl found wearing explosive device apparatus in Katsina

A 10 year old girl strapped with an explosive belt was yesterday July 29th discovered by security forces in company of two other people, a man and an 18 year old girl, while traveling along a road in Katsina state.

The DG of the National Information Center, Mr Mike Omeri said this while briefing news men at the National Information Center;

"Security forces on Tuesday, July 29, at about 10pm along Zaria Road, Tudun Wada of Funtua Metropolis, arrested three suspects believed to be members of the Boko Haram sect. The three suspects consisted a male named Iliya Haliru, and two females – Zainab Musa, 18, and Hadiza Musa, 10. The three suspects were arrested in a Honda CRV. When they were directed to disembark for security check, 10-year-old Hadiza was discovered to have been strapped with an explosive belt. And immediately, Iliya and Zainab made attempt to escape with the car but were later blocked by other concerned Nigerians and subsequently arrested. The police successfully unstrapped the explosive.”

He appealed to parents to monitor their wards so they do not get initiated into such evil acts.

Doctor who treated more than 100 Ebola patients dies from the virus

The Sierra Leonean doctor who treated more than 100 Ebola patients has also died. Dr Sheik Umar Khan (pictured above), who was hailed as a national hero for disregarding his own health and helping sick patients, died today July 29th from the disease after being diagnosed with the virus last week. He contacted the virus despite wearing protective gear when treating patients.

In an interview last month, the 39yr old doctor had expressed fears for his life because of his constant contact with Ebola patients.

"I am afraid for my life. Health workers are prone to the disease because we are the first port of call for somebody who is sickened by the disease. Even with the full protective clothing you put on, you are at risk" He told Reuters

His death comes days after a senior doctor at Liberia's largest hospital, Samuel Brisbane, died on Saturday at an Ebola treatment centre in Monrovia. 3 nurses working in the same Ebola treatment centre alongside Khan also died from the disease last week. Several other medics have been infected.
